Ergonomic Desk Chairs

An ergonomic office chair is designed to support the human body in the best way possible, taking into account factors such as posture, comfort, support and health.

Ergonomic office chairs or high back chairs can alleviate back pain by promoting a proper posture while sitting, which means the shoulders, hips, and spine are aligned properly, enabling the body to function efficiently and preventing dangerous positions like slouching and forward head movement.

1. Seat height: Ideally, the chair's seat height can be easily adjusted, and a pneumatic lever or gas lift is the most convenient way to do this. A range of 16 to 21 inches off the floor should be appropriate for most people.

2. Seat width and depth: The ergonomic office chair should have a width of about 17-20 inches and a depth that will allow the user to sit with their back against the seat while leaving approximately 2 to 4 inches between the back of their knees and the seat.

3. Lumbar Support: A good ergonomic office chair should allow height adjustment for the lumbar region so that each user can find the right fit to support the curve in the lower back.

4. Back rest: A decent ergonomic office chair's back should be between 12 and 19 inches wide. It should also be height- and angle-adjustable if it is separate from the seat.

5. Armrests: It is imperative that ergonomic office chairs have adjustable armrests. Users should be able to rest their arms comfortably and relax their shoulders when using them.

6. Swivel: Any conventional style of ergonomic chair should easily rotate so the user can reach different areas of his or her desk without straining.
